    To ensure that everything Twisted Sisters offers is of high quality, all of our teachers are at least Yoga Alliance RYT 200 level with additional certifications in various yoga specialties such yin, chair, power, and children’s yoga.

  • Katelyn Miller Simon RYT200

    Yoga styles: Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Hatha

    Katelyn is a 200 hour Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher from Lafayette, Louisiana. She began a physical practice while in college as a means of staying fit and healthy. Her practice continued once she graduated and entered her “adult life”. Working in the sometimes highly stressful and frustrating world, Katelyn began to see how much her yoga practice helped her off the mat. Yoga helped her find her calm and happy in any situation. She began to deepen her study of yoga beyond the asanas (the yoga postures that comprise a physical practice), learning more about yoga roots and philosophies. During a particularly emotionally difficult time in her life a couple of years ago, Katelyn decided to join her sister, Lauren in a 200 hour teacher training at the Lafayette Center for Yoga. There she learned more about all the aspects of yoga, but, more importantly, she learned more about herself.

    While Katelyn loves teaching and practicing the more vigorous, upbeat forms of yoga such as Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow, Slow Burn, she enjoys taking yin classes because the practice helps to balance out all the active, yang forms she typically focuses on.

    In addition to her teacher training, Katelyn has attended several workshops with reknown yogis, including David Williams’ Ashtanga workshop in Maui, Hawaii.

    Teaching yoga forced me to confront my public speaking demons so that I could share this amazing practice with others. Yoga has taught me how to find calmness and not react to fear, but to act with intention and purpose even when it’s scary. Yoga truly changed my life for the better and I know it can do the same for everyone out there. I feel my purpose is to help others develop their best self in their own way and at their own pace. I’m here to help my students open an important door to inner exploration and guide them to the personal treasures that resides inside each of us.

  • Lauren Miller E-RYT200, YACEP

    Yoga styles: Hatha, Children's, Ashtanga, Chair

    In 2008, while pregnant, Lauren began practicing yoga to help stay in shape, prepare for birth, and to recover. She continued her dedication to the practice and to share her knowledge with friends and family. In 2014, Lauren and her sister, Katelyn, enrolled in teacher training in Lafayette, Louisiana. In addition to earning her 200 hour Certification with Yoga Alliance, Lauren has studied extensively under internationally acclaimed teachers, including: Sadie Nardini, Shana Meyerson, the Little Flower Yoga program for children, Cosmic Kids Yoga, and many others. Lauren loves sharing yoga with everyone, and has special interest in teaching children’s, prenatal, and gentle self-sensitive yoga.


    “After struggling for years to find balance in my busy life, I discovered that yoga benefits not only for the body, but the mind as well. I’ve learned a lot about myself on the mat, and consider myself fortunate to take these lessons with me as I travel through life. My goal as a teacher is to share my knowledge with students and to guide them through their own personal experiences while encouraging them to be sensitive to their own bodies and fostering a sense of peace and acceptance.”

  • Lanier Cordell E-RYT200, YACEP

    Yoga styles: Yin, Chair, Mind & Body Flow, and Slow Burn

    Lanier is a  200 hour Registered Yoga Alliance Teacher who began practicing yoga in 1968.  In addition to her RYA 200 certification, Lanier has achieved special certification in Yin yoga with internationally recognized master yin teacher, Bernie Clark, and Chair Yoga with Lakshmi Voelker.  In addition, Lanier has attended the 40 hour Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga workshop taught by David Emerson, who created the techniques developed over a 15 year period under the auspices of Dr. Bessel Van der Kolk and used at the Trauma Center in Massachusetts.

    Lanier is also a practicing herbalist who has studied the medicinal use of plants for several decades.

    To me the greatest gift of yoga is what it can do for the mind and spirit. It is a healing oasis in our ever increasingly stressful world. My goal as a teacher is to create a warm, emotionally-safe environment for the student to let go and experience real inner peace.”

  • Olivia Johnson RYT200

    Styles: Ashtanga, Yin, Hatha, Vinyasa

    Olivia has been practicing yoga since she was a young child. After practicing on and off for years, she found her way back to the mat in 2014 and has been teaching since January of 2015. She loves seeing her students walk away feeling calm, loose, and empowered.

  • Jackie Duplechine

    Pilates

    PhysicalMind Institute certified in Pilates. Other qualifications are Group Exercise Instructor, Aquatics Instructor, Personal Training, Resist-A-Ball, Indoor Cycling Advanced Coach, Drums Alive (stability ball specialized training), Zumba Instructor; Basic 1, Basic 2, and Zumba Gold.
     
    My journey is not only a commitment to Pilates, but also, a continuous neverending pursuit of specialized education in Mind/Body fitness disciplines such as T'ai Chi, Meditation, QiGong, Yin Yoga, fascia release, massage, Somatics and holistic health.

     

  • Connie Chachere

    Connie began practicing yoga off and on in a gym about 15 years ago.  Once she attended a true yoga studio, she was hooked.  She has found that her yoga practice as helped her grow mentally, spiritually and physically, especially when it comes to her lower back pain.  Connie met Katelyn and Laurie while taking their classes regularly and was inspired by them to take the 200 hour teacher training at Twisted Sisters Yoga to become a teacher.  And now here she is, ready to share her love of yoga with others!
